Julie and Romeo by Jeanne Ray ⭐️⭐️
A modern day retelling of Romeo and Juliet featuring a couple in their 60s both sides of the family owning a floral shops and a long history of feuding fueled something unknown.
Julie’s husband and father of her grown children has run away with his new partner leaving Julie to run the flower shop as it was hers by inheritance. During a business conference she runs into Romeo and has a conversation that is surprisingly decent. This leads to an unexpected romance, but also opens many troubles for both sides.
I gave this book 2 stars as it was a retelling it was a little predictable I found the story plot to be very logical but was a little disappointed with the outcome I feel like the plot was strong, but I really would’ve liked more details with the final unveiling of why the family feuding had begun. I felt like it had a great lead up but once it was uncovered I was left with many more questions and wanting to know more. I will however Still read the second book as I would like to know how things end up for all of the characters with their new found peace.
