The Last True Poets of the Sea

Julia Drake

Two siblings Sam and Violet are parted for a time. Sam off to a mental care facility and Violet or stay with her uncle. While Sam is working on his mental health, violet is attempting to swear off relationships and fight the self guilt she has due her family’s current situation.

We follow Violet on a journey of self recognition. From working at the aquarium, building relationships, and chasing down a famous family history. How will Sam and violets sibling relationship be now and will they make any discoveries on the family’s history.

A young adult story of self discover, self realization, and being true one’s self . A medium paced story with a few twist and turns. The main character Violet is going through a lot of a heavy emotional experience. A Lady on Man and Lady on Lady love story with a little mystery mixed in. A nice mix of it all, all the boxes checked for an emotional drama 🎭. I felt like the plot was a little sporadic for me. At times it felt like I was just existing while reading the book, a lot of internal dialogue.
