The story follows the family of Liliana and their experience during natzi occupation in Italy. It is a story of tragedy, survival, grief, and revenge. From oppression to violence befriending an American soldier Lilian’s life is in turmoil until the end. The longest echo provides an empathetic insight on individuals lives during and after the charge of the Nazis.Similar vibes to Ann Frank and Princess Anastasia in tone as well as a few similar events/experiences. I did enjoy this book it was an emotional read and offers an air of suspense throughout the story. There is a little romance, however the story is mainly historical and perspective based. I gave this book 5 stars for a strong plot , varying writing styles as this is rare in most if my reading and i did enjoy it , attention to detail and over all flow of the writing. Five stars would recommend and may read again.
