The Witch in the Well Camilla Bruce

3 Star Review

struggling with this one - the story is one I want to experience, however the delivery of the plot is a hang up for me and it’s frustrating me, being thrown into the history mixed with current events as the characters experience things. However, some of the history is deliver later and makes parts very confusing to follow without said information given earlier.

Arriving at chapter 9 and sticking with it I want to know more about this witch or just lady who died in the well and how and if she is actually possessing another.

Old friends turned strangers with adult good and life are now clashing in their social lives and in their ambitions to each write their own version of the story sharing their experiences about the woman in the well. Both women feeling the right to their writing and upset the other has unknowingly chosen the same topic to publish on.

I will stay with it and keep trying to finish this very intwined, dark, and possessive tale. Bet it’s just a big plot twist I haven’t reach as of yet.

I gave this book 3 stars it was creepy but mainly I felt it was a feud to express experiences that cannot be compared and the two women involved really did take away from the supernatural parts of the plot with their petty fighting. Loved the jest of the book but would have preferred a different delivery.
