⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A generation of one Irish family at the end of heirs, the daughter remains loyal and dreams of re uniting the family and owning the home she grew up in.
The struggle of working, navigating love and politics, the weight of motherhood, and ultimate decisions that are presented and chosen.
Smooth and beautiful descriptions told in a first hand account of an Irish woman’s struggles and limiting circumstances, so many obstacles and human trials to overcome.
Eileen is a very strong and straight headed character, with a very strong scene of self.
By chance she is given friends in high places however her connections in themselves can not save her from all the others available trouble her temper opens her up to.
I very much enjoyed the layers of troubles and mix of small wins in this story. A mixture of romance, history, and dream to own something and belong.
The description of his hand on her lower back in such an innocent way, but also providing the right amount of description to portray the characters feelings and unspoken intentions.
Just enough romance mixed with an actually story to hold the readers attention but never leaving the plot stranded by passion or romantic occurrences.
I gave this book 5 stars I very much enjoyed the details, complications, and the style in which the story was written.
I would read this book again as I very much enjoyed it and believe so many more details would become apparent during a second reading.
I will be looking into more of the authors work as well.
Thank you Patricia Falvey for sharing this wonderful and intricate story.
